At the Cooneen/Coonian Community Development Association, we strive to provide a diverse range of programs and initiatives that cater to the interests and needs of our community members. Some examples include singing and dancing classes, art workshops, information courses on topics such as health and wellness, and organized walks to explore the beautiful surroundings of the region. We are always open to suggestions and ideas from our community members, so if there’s something you’d like to see offered, please let us know!
Joining the Cooneen/Coonian Community Development Association is easy! Simply fill out a membership form, which you can find on our website or obtain from our Community Hall. Membership is open to all residents of the Cooneen and Coonian area, and there is a small annual membership fee to help support our activities. By becoming a member, you not only gain access to all of our programs and initiatives but also have the opportunity to shape the direction of our association through voting rights at our Annual General Meetings.
We believe that everyone has unique skills and talents that can contribute to our mission of community development. While certain tasks may require specific qualifications, such as first aid certification for assisting with the organized walks, most volunteering opportunities do not have any strict requirements. We welcome individuals of all ages and backgrounds who are enthusiastic about making a positive impact in our community. If you’re unsure about whether you have the necessary skills for a specific volunteer role, feel free to reach out to us for more information.
Educational Programs
Empowering individuals through accessible and diverse learning opportunities.
Preserving and repurposing historical buildings is central to our mission. By restoring a disused primary school and Catholic church, we have not only honored the community's heritage but also created spaces that bring people together for celebrations, meetings, and gatherings
Social Services
Assisting individuals in need and facilitating a stronger, more inclusive society.
